She wasn't running on empty.

She was running on the wrong system.

Before Evolve with Em existed, I was the case study.

For as long as I can remember, I've been running on overdrive. Type A. Always busy. Always adding more to the plate. All at once, while studying my Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and Graduate Diploma in Psychological Science:

  • Training semi-professionally
  • Working full time as a head coach
  • Driving across Victoria delivering mental health workshops
  • Coaching at a high performance gym

All of it straight after a scholarship year in Singapore and Japan, where the same overdrive just had a different postcode: full time study, internships, language training, and work, all at once.

I built my whole identity around capacity.

On paper: thriving. In reality: running on a nervous system that was quietly shutting down.

I didn't call it burnout. I called it being driven. But there's a ceiling, and I hit mine.

Fight, flight, and in my case, freeze. The results stalled, and it wasn't just physical:

  • Results stalled, no matter how hard I trained or how clean I ate
  • The gap between effort and outcome kept getting wider
  • My focus blurred
  • My decisions got slower
  • The mental edge I relied on at work started slipping too

I was surviving, and surviving isn't the same as performing at your best.

Here's what changed everything: the difference isn't discipline or willpower, it's what's happening in your nervous system.

Regulated

Builds, burns, sharpens, and recovers.

Dysregulated

Holds on, slows down, and blocks every result you're chasing.

The Turning Point

It was never about working harder. It was 1% shifts, across four pillars, that changed everything.

The moment I froze was the moment I finally heard it. What followed wasn't a dramatic overhaul, just small shifts across training, fuelling, recovery, and regulation — for the first time, actually listening instead of overriding. Recovery looks different for every woman. Mine started the moment I stopped pushing through.

A line climbing gradually through many small 1% shifts before compounding into 10x, marking the turning point 10X TODAY

Why I Built This

High performance and burnout are not the same thing, and most approaches confuse them.

That is what 1% shifts compound into. Not just a better body. Better performance across every part of your life. That is what Evolve with Em is built on.

It exists to close that gap: strength training, nutrition, recovery and nervous system regulation, run as one integrated system rather than four disconnected disciplines you're left to balance alone. My background in health, exercise, sport and psychological science is why it's built on 1% shifts instead of overhauls, small enough that your nervous system doesn't register them as a threat, so they actually stick and compound. That's the proof of concept, and I live it every day.
